Bold Moves Project:  Creating a Contemporary Learning Environment

Facilitated by Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs 

Welcome to our project website! You are invited to explore each of our five sessions addressing the question:  How can we make a shift to responsive learning environment and program to match the needs of our contemporary learners?  Whether you and your team sign up for one session or the entire series, our focus will be clear.  We will investigate concrete possibilities and shape corresponding actions to be translated into plans matching your specific school and district setting.   The sessions will provide stimulating, expansive and lively interactions with both our Tri-State colleagues and virtual experts invited by Dr. Jacobs.

Who should attend:  Leadership teams, Innovation Design Task Force Teams, individual leaders from participating Tri-State Consortium member schools.Session titles correspond to each of the tabs on our website where you will find details:

  • Session 1:  Setting the Stage for School Transformation: Modern Mission, Culture, and Design Team
  • Session 2: Designing the Structures that Make Modern Learning Possible: Schedules, Spaces, Student Grouping Patterns, and Personnel Configurations
  • Session 3: Designing Contemporary Learning Experiences:  Upgrading Curriculum, Modernizing Content, Integrating New Literacies
  • Session 4: Crafting Contemporary Assessments: Local internships, Global Engagement, School Partnerships, Service Learning, and Quest & Challenge Based Projects
  • Session 5: Sustaining Innovation: Moving to a Lateral Leadership Model in Our School
